Discover how contemporary design can be created from natural and bio-based materials. In this workshop each participant makes their own distinctive lamp from biomaterial, which can be taken home afterwards and used every day. During the workshop we get to know the properties and possibilities of biomaterials and the principles of circular design, and test how sustainable materials can replace conventional plastic-based solutions. With the help of the instructors, each participant produces a unique lamp whose final appearance is shaped by the natural properties of the material and by the participant’s own choices. The participation fee covers the materials and all the tools needed for the work, and includes the finished lamp, which the participant takes home. The workshop is led by Kaisa Ilves and Eva Reiska from the circular experimental laboratory SÕÕR (www.s66r.ee).
