The Lasnamäe circular economy centre opened in spring 2026 at Toorme 2 (formerly Punane 58). It is the second building of its kind in Estonia after the Lilleküla centre, and roughly five times larger. Under one roof it brings together a waste station, repair workshops, a reuse room, a circular shop, classrooms and a circular cafe, and the building is surrounded by a circular park of about 2.5 hectares. The building was designed so as to be a demonstration of the circular economy itself. The facade section of the waste station is built of recycled timber, recycled materials have been used in the interior, and the frame-based load-bearing system allows the building to be flexibly rebuilt or dismantled in the future. The centre has a grass roof with a small solar power plant, and rainwater is used for flushing the toilets. The waste station containers are located entirely indoors to avoid noise, dust and visual pollution. The architects are Urmo Mets, Dora Mate-Stryker and Paulina Parv from the Kolm Koma architecture office, the designer is RTG Projektibüroo and the landscape architecture is by Lootusprojekt.
